Biography ~ Jacques Castonguay (written by Mr. Castonguay in 2009) Born in Quebec City, Jacques Castonguay studied in Canada, France and Italy. He received a BA from the Université Laval and a PhD from the Université de Montréal. During World War II he served with the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals and from 1958 to 1970 with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He served in various locations such as Uplands, St. Hubert, Namao and Saint-Jean. He was promoted Honorary Colonel of 16 Wing Saint-Jean and Borden in 1994. He also taught in three Canadian universities : the Dominican University College (Ottawa), the York University (Toronto) and Le Collège militaire royal de Saint-Jean (CMR).At the CMR he was successively Head of the Dept of Military Psychology and Management, Head of the Dept of Administration, Dean and Principal.As a member of a number of associations, he sat on several boards. He has published numerous articles and books, the majority of them pertaining to psychology and military history. He is presently writing a book on the October Crisis of 1970 in Quebec. Jacques Castonguay received a Honorary Doctorate in Literature from CMR (Saint-Jean) and a Honorary (Doctorate in Law from RMC (Kingston). He is a Member of the Order of Canada since 1991 and a Knight of the National Order of Quebec since 2008.
